Tarragon was known for its 'magical' powers in the Middle Ages - even considered an aent against dragons and snakes. Until this day it is known as 'Drachenkraut' in Germany aka 'dragon weed'. Tarragon is used frequently in the French kitchen, particularly for popular sauces like sauce béarnaise and sauce tartare.
